Pesticide Neuroprotection Protocol

Pesticide and Dogs
Many commonly used insecticides work by affecting the nervous system. Specifically, they block “gaba gated chloride channels”- i.e. they block the movement of chloride in and out of cells. Insects are more susceptible to the effects of these chemicals than are mammals.
However, some dogs are not as resistant as others are. These dogs will show signs of toxicity. This can often be prevented by supplements which support gaba and/or are detox agents. We recommend gaba, l-theanine, and liposomal vitamin C. The supplements should be started 1 week before using insecticides and continued for 2 weeks after application.
