Dog Nutrition
Dogs and cats are omnivores, meaning they can live healthy lives while eating a variety of food. Meats, vegetables, and grains should be a part of their daily diet.
We also need to ensure that their diet has enough minerals and elements,  and vitamins, including vitamin D.
From puppyhood on, your pet’s diet is critical to their wellbeing.  What they eat can affect their GI tract and even prevent cancer.
Avoiding by-products and artificial preservatives are the minimal standards for good nutrition. Feeding organic foods is even better.  Because of concerns with additives in pet food, and less stringent testing, I recommend feeding home-prepared food made from ingredients purchased at a grocery store.
